Probably Late

Terms of Service

Effective 13 October 2026

Draft: the bracketed details below are blanks in web/lib/legal.ts and need filling before this page is relied on.

These are the terms between you and [Company legal name] (“we”) for the Probably Late iOS app and the websites at probablylate.app, probablylate.com (together, “the service”). By making an account or using the service you agree to them. They are short on purpose; if something is unclear, ask.

1. What the service is

A camera app. You take pictures that come out as polaroids, with a caption and optionally a voice note, and they land on a “roll” — an album shared with the people you add to it. Friends on a roll can react and comment. Rolls are private to their members unless a member makes a roll public. The website shows invite previews, public profile pages, this help centre and these documents; it does not show prints.

2. Who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old, or older if the law where you live requires it to agree to terms like these. If we learn an account belongs to someone younger, we will remove it. Parents and guardians can read what the service does and does not do in the Parent Centre.

3. Your account

  • You sign in with Apple or Google. We never hold a password. Keep your Apple ID or Google account secure; what happens through it is on you.
  • You choose a username once. It cannot be changed afterwards. Usernames are first come, first served; we may reclaim one that impersonates a person or organisation, or that is offensive.
  • Your username, display name, bio, photo, banner, friend count and the names of your public rolls are visible to anyone, including on the web at https://probablylateapp.vercel.app/your-handle.
  • One person, one account. Don’t make accounts for other people or let others use yours.

4. Your content

Prints, captions, voice notes, comments, your profile and anything else you put into the service are yours. You keep every right to them. You give us only the licence we need to run the service: to store, resize, transmit and display your content to the people you shared it with, and to the public where you chose public. That licence ends when the content is deleted (subject to the 30-day sweep described in the Privacy Policy) or the account is.

Sharing to a roll gives its members the ability to see and save your print, as the app allows. Making a roll public lets anyone signed in to the app look through it. Think before you do either; we cannot un-see things for people.

5. What you must not do

  • Post content that is unlawful, that infringes someone else’s rights, or that you have no right to share — including pictures of people who would object.
  • Post sexual content involving minors, content that harasses, threatens or incites, or content that exposes someone’s private information. These end an account at once.
  • Impersonate anyone, or claim an affiliation you do not have.
  • Join rolls you were not invited to, scrape the service, probe or load-test it, or work around a rate limit, a block, or an expired invite.
  • Use the service to spam, to advertise, or to run anything automated against it.
  • Reverse-engineer the app except where the law lets you regardless of this clause.

6. Blocking, reporting and removal

You can block any person; the block is immediate and they are not told. You can report anyone or anything to info.probablylate@gmail.com (Settings → Report a Problem). We may remove content or suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and will tell you why unless the law prevents it or telling you would put someone at risk. Roll owners can remove prints from their roll and members from it.

7. Probably Late Plus

  • Plus is an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly, sold and billed by Apple through the App Store under Apple’s terms. Prices are shown in the app before you buy and may include an introductory offer for the first period.
  • It unlocks the Plus looks, Seen by, choosing your reactions, the badge, the Apple Wallet ticket and unlimited uploads from your photo library, as described in the help centre. Everything else in the app is free.
  • It renews until cancelled in your Apple ID’s Subscriptions settings at least 24 hours before the period ends. Refunds are decided by Apple under its policies.
  • When Plus lapses, nothing of yours is deleted. Plus-only features stop; prints taken with Plus looks stay as they are.

8. Changes to the service

We are small and the app changes often. We may add, change or remove features, and we may stop the service altogether; if we do, we will give notice in the app or by email where we can, and you will be able to save your prints to your phone first. Prints can be saved at full size from the app at any time.

9. Deleting your account

Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Everything deletes your account and content from our servers and wipes the phone, with no waiting period. A roll you own that has other members passes to the longest-standing of them rather than being deleted, so their prints are not taken from them. You can also ask us by email. Details are in Your account.

10. Our content

The app, the site, the wordmark, the looks, the illustrations and the stamps are ours or our licensors’. You may use them only inside the service as intended, and under the brand guidelines for anything else.

11. No warranty; limits on liability

The service is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content will never be lost; keep copies of anything you cannot bear to lose. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, and our total liability to you for anything arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

12. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and tell you in the app before the change takes effect. Carrying on using the service after that is agreeing to the new terms.

13. Law and contact

These terms are governed by the law of [Country / jurisdiction], and disputes go to its courts, without taking away any protection you have under the consumer law of the country you live in.
